One of South Africa’s biggest imports The Parlotones will be performing this Saturday at The Crocodile with a special return from Chicago’s Scattered Trees. The men behind this powerful quartet have been experiencing the fruits of their labor during the past few years with multiple accolades and fanfare following the heels of the 2010 release, Stardust Galaxies. Not only have their songs been linked to mainstream shows such as One Tree Hill, Pretty Little Liars, and Jersey Shore, but they have also performed at monumental events which have included the 2010 World Cup Kickoff Concert in Germany, Live Earth and performing sold out stadiums back in their hometown. If you have never heard of the name before, that is understandable as their presence has mostly been through word of mouth. Think of them as a cross over between The Killers and Coldplay. They have the same magnitude in popularity and create arena inspired tunes ample for continuous replay. By spring 2012, they will be releasing their forthcoming studio album. Although The Parlotones have been around for years, since the beginning of October, the guys have been touring all over the US. They have been appeasing American fans who no longer have to hear the buzz or watch YouTube videos of their vibrant concerts from across the pond. Be sure to see them when they hit your city soon. They play at The Crocodile for an Early Show at 5PM.
